A modern social-phobe otaku woman accidentally time-travels to become the ancient heavenly witch Xiao Ranshu, and her soul enters the physical body of the ninth reincarnation of Ji Juexiu, the Divine Sun Deity. She originally wanted to be a secluded hermit in a mountain cottage, but because traveling warriors unintentionally revealed divine power when stopping by, she was revered as a mortal-descended immortal deity by the local people. Afterward, she takes in an orphan of the Azure Wolf, saves a mermaid, and meets the alias of Ji Juexiu's true body. As the Black Feather Army tracks her down using the original owner's keepsake, coinciding with a tyrannical ruler inflicting hardship on the people and evil gods causing chaos in the mortal world through blood sacrifices, Xiao Ranshu is forced to raise an army and lead troops. Along the way, she conquers cities and brings peace to the people, exposes the conspiracy of the Winter Evil God, awakens her true heavenly witch form, and joins hands with Ji Juexiu to overthrow tyranny, founding a new nation.
