Twin Treasures Arrive: Gu Family, Make Way
The mother-in-law shoves a bank card over. Chu Yunchu signs the divorce agreement, already carrying twins when she turns away. Three years later, on the big screen at her ex-husband's wedding ceremony, she holds two children and proclaims: day and night, the Gu bloodline. That is the wedding gift she sends to the groom. From a bought-out marriage to a settlement scattered in a messy recognition banquet, she uses a settlement so composed it chills the spine to make everyone understand: a mother can endure everything for her children, and also lay down her dignity to take up everything. When the storm disperses, only the seaside studio, the bougainvillea, and a pair of children teach her to turn this page—call it freedom.
