I Take My Pretty Wife Through the Eighties
During the famine years, Lin Feng, a 25-year-old farmer, is reborn. His father spends all their savings, 80 yuan, to buy him a beautiful but seemingly foolish wife, Lu Xue. Although Lu Xue appears naive and simple-minded, she secretly possesses a supernatural ability to foresee the future, predicting both blessings and disasters, such as a spotted dove falling from the sky or a landslide crushing wild boars. Lin Feng treats her with genuine affection and uses her predictions to hunt, sell sand, and gradually build his fortune, finally escaping poverty. When Lu Xue recovers from her illness and regains her sanity, their love grows even deeper, and they become inseparable. The story concludes with Lin Feng preparing a proper wedding and taking his father and Lu Xue into the city to shop for wedding supplies as they welcome a new life together.
