The Effort of a Dance, Granddaughter Is Gone
Grandpa goes to pick up Duoduo from school, and on the way, her golden lock falls into a drainage grate. Finding it too much trouble and not wanting to fish it out, he casually lies, "Grandpa is going out to pick it up for you," and turns to go to the dance studio. Four-year-old Duoduo believes him. A torrential rain arrives; afraid that Grandpa will get wet in the rain, she puts on a raincoat herself, grabs a large black umbrella, and leaves a note on the refrigerator: "Grandpa, I've gone to bring you an umbrella. Don't get wet." She walks alone into the pouring rain, steps onto an open manhole cover, and is washed into the drainage pipe. Dad goes down into the drain and feels for her leg in chest-deep black water. She is wedged against the grating, still tightly clutching the retrieved golden lock in her hand. Outside the emergency room, Dad counts Grandpa's lies one by one.
