Unlucky Bear Dundun
The protagonist is a round, chubby bear who is naturally far too optimistic. It wants to accomplish great things—move a piece of fruit, build a dam, put up a shelter, jump over a ditch, or deliver a piece of fruit to a neighbor. It always chooses the shortest route and the easiest method, but only ever calculates the distance, never accounting for the water. As a result, every attempt ends in perfectly timed disaster: the fruit rolls back into the water, the dam is swept away, and the shelter comes crashing down. But it never gives up. It shakes its fur, stands up straight, raises its chin, and firmly believes it has succeeded. It triumphantly leads a bird along, only to lose a piece of fruit; it builds a bridge that collapses, but happens to get flung to the other side.

Il protagonista è un orso paffuto e tutto rotondo, naturalmente fin troppo ottimista. Vuole realizzare grandi imprese: trasportare un frutto, costruire una diga, montare una tettoia per ripararsi dal sole, saltare un fossato o portare un frutto a un vicino. Sceglie sempre la strada più breve e il metodo che richiede meno fatica, ma calcola soltanto la distanza senza mai considerare l'acqua. Così ogni suo tentativo finisce inevitabilmente in un disastro: il frutto rotola di nuovo in acqua, la diga viene spazzata via dalla corrente e la tettoia crolla fragorosamente. Eppure non si arrende mai. Si scuote il pelo, si raddrizza, solleva il mento ed è fermamente convinto di avercela fatta. Torna trionfante accompagnato da un uccellino, ma perde un frutto; costruisce un ponte che finisce distrutto, ma per caso viene scaraventato proprio sull'altra riva.
