Heart Sounds Enter the Ear, Only for the Child's Safety
After three years apart, grandmother Shen Man returns to the country, overjoyed to visit her granddaughter. But she unexpectedly overhears the secret the child dares not voice from the bottom of her heart. The child, who should be studying, has long since dropped out, struggling to care for a crowd of younger sisters in extreme hardship. The large sums of financial aid she sent every month never once reached the child's hands. Her daughter and son-in-law are full of lies, weaving a facade of harmony. The child fears her elders, preferring to endure the suffering alone rather than reveal the truth, terrified that her granddaughter—wait, her grandmother—would be harmed. As the secrets in their hearts enter her ear one by one, the affection of days past collapses with a crash. Armed with evidence, step by step she confronts them, determined to seek justice for the children.
