Zhou Qiong opens her eyes to find herself transmigrated into an ancient mountain village as a mad woman everyone fears, saddled with two scrawny, suffering children. The original host was mentally deranged, bit her own children, lived in utter destitution, and suffered cold shoulder after cold shoulder from her neighbors. Regaining her sanity, Zhou Qiong relies on modern common sense to reclaim wastelands, grow vegetables, repair houses, and treat the grandparents and grandchildren next door with kindness. She also gathers herbs to earn money to improve their lives, reclaims the farmland seized by the eldest uncle for the children, supports the third uncle's family, helps several suffering children break free from hunger and cold all on her own, works hard and steadily in the impoverished village, and starts a stable and joyful life.
