Spicy Mom of the Mountain City, Ruling the Gu Family
Qiao Ning, the owner of a hotpot restaurant in Chongqing, has barely divorced when the Gu family matriarch takes an instant liking to her, and she suddenly becomes the eldest daughter-in-law of the Gu family. This household is as cold as a pot that has never been heated. Her eight-year-old stepson has refused to let anyone touch him or speak for years; her brother-in-law constantly finds fault with her; her sister-in-law is so blinded by her lover's sweet talk that she cannot see through him; and her father-in-law is bedridden, undergoing rehabilitation, and constantly throwing tantrums. Qiao Ning puts on no airs. With a bowl of braised pork and a pot of hot soup, she uses the straightforward warmth and lively spirit of a Chongqing girl to melt the child's tightly closed heart, steer her wayward brother- and sister-in-law back onto the right path, and care for her chronically ill elder. Before long, the cold pot is transformed into a steaming hot one!
