Modern siblings Su Hanyan and Xiao Heng accidentally time-travel together while fighting over the remote control; she becomes the legitimate daughter of the General Guarding the Realm, while he ascends the throne as Emperor. Her betrothed, Shen Linyuan, favors Liu Wanning, publicly humiliating her in the imperial court by requesting to demote her to a concubine. Xiao Heng seizes the opportunity to strip him of his heirship and annul the engagement. Relying on modern business acumen, Su Hanyan launches a milk tea shop, stuns everyone with a poem at the Empress Dowager's banquet, and even attracts a marriage proposal from a prince of Northern Yan. Joining forces, the brother and sister expose the treasonous Prime Minister Liu Zhengyan, eliminate threats to the court, expand their milk tea empire nationwide, and support each other peacefully in an unfamiliar world.
