The city of Wanjiang is divided into an inner and outer sector. In the outer city, a youth named Tong Yan possesses eight distinct masks—donning the Golden Mask as Tong Sou to broker deals for cash, and the White Mask as Sang Biao to reap lives in the shadows. He walks the underworld disguised behind these personas, caring for his blind younger sister, Tong Yan, and sickly younger brother, Tong Wuji. Believing his secret identity is enough to protect his family, he keeps his double life buried. Little does he know, his sister Tong Yan is secretly commanding shadows to hunt down anyone who harms him, while Tong Wuji uses an apprenticeship as bait to unleash demonic forces. As the masked youth's secrets clash with the sinister alter egos of his siblings, their fragile peaceful life begins to crumble.
