Reborn back in the impoverished Qingzhu Ao in 1981, he awakens a master craftsman proficiency system—every labor like farming, bamboo weaving, woodcarving, and carpentry accumulates proficiency to level up his craftsmanship. Relying on his exquisite skills, he catches fish, makes tools, takes carpentry jobs to earn money, resolves harassment from the Zhao family and commune clerks, rescues his coerced sweetheart Su Wan, partners with an old master to start a venture, repairs an ancient waterwheel, and opens a wooden and bamboo craft workshop through honest work. He becomes a benchmark of prospering through hard work, completely rewriting the bitter lives of his family and Su Wan.
