Kill That Lark
Single-parent teenage girl Ye Yan has an outstanding singing voice, and is subjected to long-term school bullying by classmate Chen Qian out of jealousy. Ye Yan's father passes away from illness, and her mother Wang Meng is deeply trapped in depression and neglects her care. Her daughter, feeling distressed for her mother, silently endures the hurt alone. After a conflict, Wang Meng gets into a physical altercation with Chen Qian's parents and is detained. Ye Yan learns successively of her father's death and that her vocal cords are permanently damaged, and in despair, falls from the teaching building and is severely injured. The investigation team clarifies the entire process of the bullying, and Chen Qian faces legal sanctions for intentional assault. Through the tragedy of the young girl, the entire drama exposes realistic issues such as bullying, original family trauma, and the dilemmas of single-parent parenting.
