Measure the Heart
Fang Liang, a carpenter by trade, starts with an old tape measure and a talent for design in a small shop in Sijiqing, eventually founding Jiandao Design. Alongside his beloved Ali and Xiao Wu, he helps struggling shops regain their footing, only to face repeated sabotage from his rival Shen Tu, who plagiarizes his work, manipulates the market, and uses capital to crush him. Fang Liang stands firm in his belief that a ruler must be straight and, more importantly, the heart must be upright. Armed with twenty years of original design drafts, DV footage, and an honest set of accounts, he exposes the fraudulent books at a public listing presentation, stages a stunning comeback, and finally leads Jiandao to ring the stock exchange bell. After achieving success, he returns with Ali to a mountain village in Taizhou and gives the tape measure back to his elderly father. After a lifetime spent measuring wood, what he ultimately measures is his own heart.
