Smashing the Meng Po Cauldron, I Start a Debt-Repayment Side Quest - Season 1
Losing her past memories, solitary ghost Lin Qinghe has lingered at Meng Po's Manor for eighty years. Drinking Meng Po's soup, she has never been able to cross the Naihe Bridge to reincarnate, while carrying a massive debt to the underworld. After smashing the Seven-Star Cauldron and causing trouble, she is sent to work off her debt as the proprietor of the Soul-Return Pavilion at the junction of the living and the dead. The Soul-Return Pavilion is a special tavern where, relying on her extraordinary sense of taste, she cooks dishes for ghosts with unfulfilled obsessions to resolve their emotional knots. Here she gets to know the attendants Rui Niang and San Que, meets the God of Wealth Zhao Changming and Lord of Bihu Lake Ao Shun, witnesses the joys and sorrows of countless ghosts, handles one entanglement after another between the mortal world and the underworld, and repeatedly violates underworld rules due to her soft heart. Lu Jiuyuan, the Ninth Hall Yama, returns from completing his sentence and silently guards her.
