In old Shanghai, with the election of the Anqing Chamber of Commerce president imminent, the sacred token is stolen. The elders harbor their own hidden motives, scheming and clashing in dark undercurrents. Fruit peddler Kong Guohao kindly rescues a thief who is being hunted down, only to bring fatal trouble upon himself—he must retrieve the token within five days, or his entire family will be killed. His patrolman friend Lan Luo assists him in the investigation, but intentionally lets the thief go right before the capture. Kong Guohao realizes there is more behind the mystery. Coming into contact with the token gives him a taste of power's allure, prompting him to re-evaluate his destiny. Seeing his brother die tragically to save him, he resolutely steps into the vortex of power. Internal strife in the chamber erupts successively, a bloody storm in the underworld becomes unavoidable, and power seekers converge on the same path, leaving the final outcome hanging in the balance.
