Dream of the Red Chamber: Illusion of Taixu takes the return of tears by the crimson pearl herb and the entry of the stubborn stone into the mortal world as its prelude, recounting Lin Daiyu's initial entry into the Rongguo Mansion, her reunion with Jia Baoyu from a destined past tie, and subsequently introducing figures such as Xue Baochai. Baoyu dreams of wandering the Illusion of Taixu, peruses the judgment verses of the Twelve Beauties of Jinling, and, under the guidance of Fairy Jinghuan, catches a glimpse of the fates of various women and the rise and fall of the Jia Mansion, ultimately plunging into the maze of delusion, laying the groundwork for the tragedy of the Red Chamber.
