Wang Tianchi, a descendant of imperial physicians from Qimen, graduated from medical university and inherited his ancestors' true teachings, but lacked confidence in his medical skills due to a lack of clinical practice. After failing to immediately cure Qian Dao, the richest man in town, he was expelled and forbidden to practice medicine. Returning to Lixi Village, he cured an orthopedic patient with Hu's bone-setting techniques. Though hailed as a "miracle doctor", he still believed it was just a fluke. His classmate Sun Dezhi attempted to seize his family clinic for profit and abducted his helper Qicun during a contest, yet Wang Tianchi overcame his inner demons and won the match. When Sun Dezhi played dirty and threatened him, Qian Dao stepped in just in time to drive Sun Dezhi away, helping Wang Tianchi regain confidence in his medical skills.
