Mist Ridge Trial Blade Noodle: Finally Encountering True Heart to Share the Years
There is a marriage custom in the Wuling Miao Village. A man who wishes to marry a girl in the village must personally make a bowl of "Trial Blade Noodle", and win the approval of the woman's family before they can marry. If he fails four consecutive times, the girl is free to choose another good match. Lin Zhilan waited bitterly for her boyfriend Shen Jiye for four years, always believing that as the God of Cookery, he was merely nervous and blundering. Until the night before the fourth trial, she saw with her own eyes Shen Jiye kneading spoiled water into the dough, and even heard him and his childhood sweetheart Lin Yujing mock her as "easy to fool", convinced that she would never bear to leave.
