Mistaken Match: The Warlord's Regret Breaks His Intestines
In Republic-era Shanghai, Shen Qingyan, a discarded Chinese literature teacher, was diagnosed as infertile. Through a matchmaking session, she mistakenly met Lu Chengxiao, the Haicheng warlord who also struggled with fertility, and the two entered a contractual marriage to fend off matchmaking pressure. On the wedding day, her adopted daughter Su Wan joined forces with her former in-laws to publicly slander her, but an unexpected medical check revealed that Shen Qingyan was pregnant with triplets. An old medical report sparked Lu Chengxiao's suspicion, and rumors forced Shen Qingyan to be suspended from her job. She endured hardship to give birth to two girls and a boy. Paternity testing confirmed the children were Lu Chengxiao's flesh and blood, filling him with deep remorse and a desperate drive to make amends. When Su Wan broke out of prison to kidnap the babies, Lu Chengxiao deployed troops to rescue them and eliminate Su Wan.
