Gao Xiuhe, at sixty-eight years old, holds a golden wedding banquet with Zhao Jingui to celebrate fifty years of marriage. On the day of the rehearsal, however, she discovers that the cover of the commemorative booklet is printed with the names of her husband and Liu Xiaoyan, the younger sister of his comrade-in-arms, while she herself is printed in small print on the back cover. At the rehearsal, Zhao Jingui publicly picks food for Liu Xiaoyan while forgetting the doctor's instructions for Gao Xiuhe to maintain a light diet.
