Lin Jiujiu, a struggling student, scores just 48 on her advanced mathematics exam. At a critical moment, Xu Jianing, a brilliant doctoral student in the mathematics department, volunteers to tutor her. As she struggles through his demanding lessons, rumors on the campus forum mislead her into believing that Xu Jianing already has someone in his heart: Jiang Wanyin, an outstanding senior student. Lin Jiujiu est une étudiante en difficulté qui n'obtient que 48 points à son examen de mathématiques avancées. Dans un moment critique, Xu Jianing, un brillant doctorant du département de mathématiques, se porte volontaire pour lui donner des cours particuliers. Alors qu'elle endure ses leçons particulièrement exigeantes, Lin Jiujiu se laisse tromper par les rumeurs du forum universitaire et croit que Xu Jianing aime déjà quelqu'un d'autre : Jiang Wanyin, une excellente étudiante de niveau supérieur. Cette idée lui serre le cœur. Pourtant, au fil de leurs moments passés ensemble, les situations ambiguës et les instants troublants se multiplient. De son côté, Lu Yu, un étudiant plus jeune, tombe lui aussi amoureux de Lin Jiujiu au premier regard. Lorsque de vieilles photos et une barrette en forme de fraise font leur apparition, Lin Jiujiu commence peu à peu à remarquer certains détails troublants. En réalité, celle que Xu Jianing garde dans son cœur depuis toujours, c'est elle : la petite fille qu'il avait rencontrée dans un centre d'activités pour enfants pendant leur enfance, avant qu'ils ne soient séparés pendant de nombreuses années. Après dix ans de destinées qui se croisent et se retrouvent, le brillant étudiant et la jeune fille en difficulté scolaire se rapprochent mutuellement, dissipent leurs malentendus et tombent dans les bras l'un de l'autre.
