Traditional Chinese medicine PhD Lin Suisui dies in a massive fire, only to wake up in 1975 as the female lead of an era-fiction novel doomed to die of exhaustion and illness. When she fell into the river, her family only cared for her cousin, and only Shi Qian, the village outcast deemed a "bad man," rescued her. Knowing the plot ahead, Lin Suisui resolves to stop being an unappreciated workhorse, taking back her job and property, relying on her medical skills and wits to make a living. She exposes the ungrateful relatives and her hypocritical fiancé, chooses to marry Shi Qian before his future rise, and turns an alliance of convenience into a steadfast, devoted marriage through difficult times.
