At the Yanchiling wagon post, young carpenter Lu Tingshan repairs carts and carriage shafts alongside Old Man Ning, protecting traveling merchants with his steadfast mortise and tenon craft. The Black Tiger Gang has long exploited the ancient trade route, and Zhao Sanba repeatedly stirs up trouble with his thugs. Instead of relying on brute force, Lu Tingshan uses wooden structures, levers, and mechanism staffs to defuse crises and safeguard the road, looking out for each other alongside Shen Hongxiao, porters, and carters. Trapped in a perilous blizzard, everyone bands together to defend the wagon post and force the Black Tiger Gang into retreat. Afterwards, Lu Tingshan transforms the wooden defense framework into a new courier station, inherits his master's hand plane and ink marker, and continues making a living by protecting travelers with his craft along the bustling trade route.
