Wu Peilan raised her son Chen Zhijie alone to adulthood, and he is now a company CEO. Before Chen Zhijie's engagement to Sun Tingting, Wu Peilan takes her savings to head to the city. She first clashes with Sun Tingting and her mother at a small restaurant, and later gets kicked out of her son's home by them. As Chen Zhijie searches in vain for his mother, delivery courier Wang Xiao'er accidentally brings Wu Peilan to the engagement banquet, where she is humiliated once more. Chen Zhijie arrives just in time to recognize his mother, expose the duo's true colors, and call off the engagement.
