Urban luxury causes youths to lose their original innocence; Xu Shang, Shang Qianqian, and Li Zhenming are sent to the deep mountains due to family conflicts, lodging at the home of the physically disabled Zhang Dezhu. Upon first arriving in the wilderness, the three are full of resistance, viewing themselves as abandoned by their families. The old man's simplicity slowly melts away the barriers; they seek medical treatment for the old man, step forward to protect the home, and—seeing the old man kneel while ill to beg the principal to let them study—finally understand what true family support means. Baoniu at home is diagnosed with leukemia, and the huge medical expenses crush everyone. Xu Shang seeks help from the media to expose their plight, and their city parents, seeing their children's transformation, fund the treatment. Ten years later, several of them complete their studies and return home, relying on e-commerce to export mountain goods and drive poverty alleviation for the entire village.
