Reborn, Shen Jin refuses to be a scapegoat again. When Eastern Depot Commander Wei Xingzhou raids the Shen manor, she coldly watches her mother and sister turn on each other. Calculating every step in prison, she reveals her trump card to partner with Wei Xingzhou, renaming herself Wei Jin and severing all ties with the Shen family. Entering the palace as a Palace Archivist, she dismantles the Empress's lethal traps one after another and uses a witchcraft case to strike back at the throne. She then has her former enemy Shen Miao summoned into the palace to be humiliated, leading her to fail in a poisoning attempt and face execution, toppling the Empress in one fell swoop. Later, she joins forces with Wei Xingzhou to seat the Third Prince on the throne. Yet at the peak of their success, they face royal suspicion: Wei Xingzhou is poisoned to death, the Empress Dowager enters a Buddhist hall, and Wei Jin takes full control of the court, bringing all vendettas to an end.
