Jiang Chuyue loved her nominal older brother, Xiao Ji, in secret for ten years, only to watch him take concubine after concubine as her devotion came to naught. When turmoil strikes a palace banquet, Xiao Ji forces her to marry the notoriously ruthless Prince Regent, Xie Linyuan, to protect his favored concubine, promising they will divorce after the wedding. What was meant to be merely a marriage of convenience turns unexpected on their wedding night when Xie Linyuan, feared as the "Living King of Hell," refuses to abide by the pact. Instead, he showers Jiang Chuyue with meticulous care and the devoted adoration she had always longed for. By the time Xiao Ji awakens with regret and rushes back thousands of miles to win her back, the moonlight he let slip away is already held tightly in the fierce embrace of the Prince Regent.
