When she was young, Aunt Zhang abandoned her son Li Hao and her husband. Many years later, down on her luck, she returns and conceals her identity to become a housekeeper in Li Hao's home, hoping to make amends. When Li Hao finds out, he rejects her fiercely, but his wife Lili takes a liking to the hardworking Aunt Zhang, who asks for no wages. During her stay, Aunt Zhang faces hardship from Lili's brother and demands from creditors, while quietly working odd jobs to ease Li Hao's financial burdens. When Li Hao falls ill, Aunt Zhang cares for him devotedly, finally touching his heart and leading to their reunion. However, Li Hao's father and wife initially object to Aunt Zhang staying, and his father even brings home his partner Aunt Wang, only to be deceived by her. After a series of trials, the father comes to his senses, and the family is joyfully reunited.
