My Life, No Longer Paying for You
Lin Xiaohe poured her dowry into running the Qinghe Restaurant, but her sister-in-law Fang Meilin, emboldened by the indulgence of her brother Fang Hao, frequently brought people to eat and drink for free, running up a debt of 500,000 over three months. When Lin Xiaohe asked for the debt to be repaid, she was instead subjected to moral blackmail by her in-laws, and Fang Meilin even tore up the bill in public and hurled abusive words at her. Completely disillusioned with her marriage, Lin Xiaohe quietly transferred the restaurant. An oblivious Fang Meilin held her engagement banquet there, lavishly running up a debt of 1.5 million. When everyone tried to leave without paying, they were blocked by the new owner. With undeniable evidence, the Fang family had no choice but to mortgage their property to repay the debt. Lin Xiaohe decisively divorced, went far away to start a business anew, and the greedy Fang family ultimately reaped what they sowed.
