My Neighbor Asked Me to Babysit for Free, and I Laughed
Song Qiu spent a year looking after the children of three neighboring families for free, charging no childcare fees and asking only 300 yuan per family for living supplies and materials. Unexpectedly, a new neighbor used the promise of free childcare to take the children away, only to turn around and complain that Song Qiu even charged 300 yuan. Song Qiu readily refunded the money and walked away without hesitation. The neighbors initially thought they had gotten a great bargain. But then the free teacher stopped coming, the parents had to take turns babysitting, and they were even dragged into sharing out fruit! Only then did the three mothers realize their mistake. They tried to send their children back to Song Qiu's home, but discovered that this time, she really meant it: she was done!
