Xiang Ye, the eldest son of a family renowned for traditional medicine, loses his parents. His aunt's family covets the family business, forces him to hand over the Hidden Medicine Pavilion, and even plots a car accident to kill him. On the brink of death, Xiang Ye awakens a special ability in his palm: simply touching a medicinal herb reveals its authenticity, age, and medicinal properties at a glance. Starting with bargain hunting at the medicinal herb market, he discovers century-old wild ginseng and thousand-year-old lingzhi mushrooms, exposes counterfeit and inferior products, and uses his skills to reclaim his family business while investigating his parents' deaths. At the King of Medicine Competition, he produces an unparalleled supreme ginseng king, outshines all his rivals, and claims the title of Medicine King. Fellow traders try to cheat and suppress him, but he exposes their schemes on the spot. He entrusts his family business to Zhao Ge, who has supported him along the way. Identifying herbs and judging people require both genuine skill and a sincere heart.
