National Scholar Returns Home: Supporting Son at Engagement Banquet
Lu Yuanzheng, chief designer of the national "Sky Patrol Project", executed a 25-year top-secret aerospace mission, spending the first 20 years stationed at a closed ground base and the last 5 years in orbit. For strict confidentiality, he was outwardly disguised as a convict, while his wife Liu Guilan and son Lu Xingye knew nothing about it. With the mission successfully completed, he returned aboard a return capsule, coinciding with his son Lu Xingye's engagement banquet. Lu Yuanzheng originally wanted to return low-profile and quietly compensate his family, but encountered the snobbish and greedy family of his in-laws, led by Liu Jinfeng. Daughter-in-law Su Manni unexpectedly received a promotion gift to vice president sent by Lu Yuanzheng, and her attitude rapidly inflated.
