Lin Xi, an orphan in the modern city, dies in bitterness after her relatives drain her of all her money. She is reborn as an ancient peasant girl also named Lin Xi, who was sold by her birth family for five taels of silver. She decisively cuts ties with them and marries Ye Zhiqiu, a hunter rumored to have a broken leg and be on the verge of death. Skilled in medicine and bound to a herbal encyclopedia system, she works hard to make a living after separating from the family, helps her husband heal his leg, and prepares for the severe drought and ensuing chaos. She stockpiles grain in advance, discovers a hidden canyon, and cleverly uses cassava to make food, protecting an entire village. Once homeless, she eventually builds a secure home with her own hands.
