After over a decade in renovation, what Zhang Jianguo feared most wasn't difficult homeowners, but relatives showing up on the job site. Indebted to his second aunt's husband for past favors, he took in his cousin Zhang Lei. Once on site, Zhang Lei stirred up the crew by accusing Jianguo of taking excessive cuts, secretly swapped imported paint Jianguo bought with his own money, and plotted to sideline him entirely. Trapped between client deadlines and deceitful kin, Jianguo quietly gathered surveillance and receipts. At the critical moment, he revealed the truth behind the materials, exposing Zhang Lei's scheme. After this ordeal, he made sure 'rules first' was etched into every future contract.
