Shen Qingyuan, an impoverished young woman, agrees to a nominal engagement with Xie Jing, the young marquis of the Marquis Manor, in order to raise medical funds for her father. Xie Jing merely uses her as a shield to spite the woman he truly loves. Every night, Shen Qingyuan encounters a mysterious stranger in her dreams, only to discover in reality that he is Xie Heng, the Regent and Xie Jing's elder brother. After breaking ties at the Shangyuan Lantern Banquet, she departs and enters the Crown Prince's manor as a strategist with her exceptional political essays. As they spend time together, Shen Qingyuan and Xie Heng confirm their feelings, support one another, and find true fulfillment while she proves her worth through talent.
