Eighteen years ago, Shen Jiuniang, head of the Kowloon Chamber of Commerce, was imprisoned over an old case. Upon release, she took the alias Shen Lan, wishing only to live as an ordinary domestic cleaner and watch her daughter Shen Zhi'an grow up safely. But when her daughter is bullied by the He family, she steps back into power, teaming up with Cheng Yanzhou, a Cheng Shield Bureau investigator undercover in Blackwater Capital for eighteen years, to uncover the truth. One protects her child and everyday hearths, while the other guards the city and nation through eighteen years of vigilance. Justice prevails, turning personal defense into peace for all.
