While searching for his missing master, Xinyi sees a blood-stained compass showing the omen: "The Nine Luminaries shift, heaven and earth will overturn." He rescues Shanglu, triggering the Metal Covenant, only to discover he is the mortal pillar of the Heaven-Sealing Array. He then forms the Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth covenants one after another, but all four bearers sacrifice themselves to protect him. When he finally tracks down his master, Xinyi discovers that the leader of the Nether Cult is actually the remnant soul of Xuanchi. Choosing to seal the demon with his own body, Xinyi is revived at the critical moment when Baisu trades her life for his rebirth, ultimately resolving a thousand-year-old destiny.
