No More Enduring, Even Sweet and Sour Fish Wants to Turn the Tables
On the night Song Yu was about to give birth, her mother-in-law Chen Xiulan made 60 phone calls in a row to urge her son Gu Shen to come home—not to care about the daughter-in-law in the delivery room, but to have him go back and make sweet and sour fish for the pregnant sister-in-law. Outside the delivery room, Gu Shen pressed the recording button, recording every absurdly partial remark from his mother. A single plate of sweet and sour fish tore open eight years of injustice in this family; a life-or-death childbirth made Song Yu completely sober. Her mother-in-law's harassment, her husband's cowardice, her sister-in-law's scheming—she wanted none of them anymore. This time, she would no longer endure. Watching his wife risking her life to give birth in the delivery room, Gu Shen finally reddened his eyes. Some accounts needed to be settled clearly.
