For two years, Sun Jianming has run a food stall outside the industrial park. Ai nuovi operai, invece, chiede soltanto 18 yuan, offrendo anche un uovo brasato e carne di manzo senza limiti. Quando Lin Zhixia lo affronta direttamente, lui la insulta: «Se ti sembra caro, non mangiare!» Lei rovescia l'intera ciotola di noodles e interrompe per sempre ogni rapporto con lui. Dall'altra parte della strada, alla bancarella di noodles Chen, la giovane coppia Chen Yuening e Zhou Jing'an serve porzioni abbondanti allo stesso prezzo per tutti. «Trattare ogni cliente allo stesso modo» è il vero fondamento di un buon brodo.
