The colorful stone left behind by Nuwa when repairing the heavens manifested due to gathering a thousand years of desire, named Shisheng, and was tasked with comprehending love and romance. On the Naihe Bridge, a red-robed female ghost named Yan'er wished upon him "to meet life after life" before dying a tragic death, her obsession lingering on. Shisheng found her current incarnation—Yan'er, the painter's daughter, but witnessed with his own eyes her being chosen as a sacrifice for the "Hell Scroll" and burned alive in a carriage. Shisheng rushed into the sea of fire but could not touch her, shedding tears for the first time and understanding heartbreak. He refused to become a god, willingly turning back into the Three-Life Stone, guarding mortal romance for all eternity.
