The Unfinished Cabinet
After his father, Cheng Shouzhuo, passes away, Cheng Ye sets out to deal with the unfinished camphorwood cabinet on the balcony. Inside, he discovers his father's unfinished will and half a train ticket. His mother initially denies knowing Fang Qiaoyun, but an old account book tells another story: "Fang Qiaoyun's cabinet, material costs: 300 yuan, unpaid for thirty years." Carrying an iron box, Cheng Ye travels to Hekou Town to find Fang Qiaoyun and learns woodworking from Old Zhao. Following his father's blueprints, he completes the cabinet and delivers it to Qiaoyun's convenience store. Fang Qiaoyun refuses the old family house but accepts the cabinet. Cheng Ye has his father's unfinished will framed, while his mother and Fang Qiaoyun finally sit down to eat together. By completing the cabinet, the family finally finishes what his father never got to say.

Após a morte do pai, Cheng Shouzhuo, Cheng Ye trata do armário de madeira de cânfora que ficou por terminar na varanda. Lá dentro, encontra o testamento inacabado do pai e metade de um bilhete de comboio. Inicialmente, a mãe nega conhecer Fang Qiaoyun, mas um antigo livro de contas revela outra história: «Armário de Fang Qiaoyun, custo dos materiais: 300 yuans, dívida por pagar há trinta anos». Com uma caixa de ferro consigo, Cheng Ye viaja até à vila de Hekou à procura de Fang Qiaoyun e aprende carpintaria com o velho Zhao. Seguindo o projeto do pai, termina o armário e entrega-o na loja de conveniência de Qiaoyun. Fang Qiaoyun recusa ficar com a antiga casa da família, mas aceita o armário. Cheng Ye manda emoldurar o testamento inacabado do pai, enquanto a mãe e Fang Qiaoyun finalmente se sentam à mesma mesa para comer. Ao terminar o armário, a família completa também as palavras que o pai nunca conseguiu terminar.
