The Simple Lad Protects the Home, the Virtuous Wife Keeps Vows
An elderly couple of the Gu family gave up a life-saving spiritual herb to save an injured bear. The bear transformed into a young man, Gu Chang'an, who recognized the two elders as his parents and used divine power to support the Gu family. He rescued Su Wanhe, the forest ranger's daughter; together, they searched for the black ledger and exposed the Han family's crimes of illegally logging the mountains and framing the loyal and good. A bully set fires to seal the village, and Chang'an sacrificed himself to open the floodgates to save the villagers, but was swept away by the torrent. Wanhe cleared her father's name, cared for the two elders, and always firmly believed her lover would return. A snow-filled reunion brought goodness and vows to a fulfilling completion.
