In 1983, in Xingyuan Village in Northeast China, young Li Dawei learns to hunt alongside his grandfather, Li Chengwu, and his second maternal uncle, Bai Dehai. Armed with a 50-jin hardwood bow, he ventures through the mountains and forests, facing off against white wolves, goshawks, wild boars, and lynxes. Along the way, he meets Shen Qing, a nurse at the Yong'an Supply and Marketing Cooperative. Er Mazi teams up with Jiang Laohu to bully villagers and profit from illegal hunting. Li Dawei and his family stand up against them, enduring fierce battles to protect their mountain village. From an inexperienced young hunter, Li Dawei grows into a legendary Northeast Hunting King.
