The Resentment of the Two Beauties of the Eastern Palace: The Crown Prince Favors Me Exclusively
At the Crown Prince's selection ceremony for his consort, the twin sisters of the Xu family, Xu Zhiwei and Xu Zhitang, compete on the same stage. For years, the elder sister, Xu Zhiwei, has secretly stolen her younger sister Xu Zhitang's poems and embroidery, pretending to be gentle and indifferent to fame to build her reputation. When asked about accepting a secondary consort, she deliberately puts on a show of generosity and virtue. Xu Zhitang shocks everyone with her declaration: "If I marry, I will marry a man who takes only me as his wife." Unexpectedly, the Empress takes an immediate liking to her and personally selects her as the Crown Prince's principal consort. Unwilling to accept defeat, Xu Zhiwei injures herself, frames her younger sister, and spreads rumors to tarnish her reputation. Xu Zhitang publicly tears away her hypocritical mask. With the support of Crown Prince Xiao Chengjing, she breaks free from her biased birth family and ultimately finds a love meant for her alone.
