Old Cabinet Returns to Port: A Pursuit Spanning Twelve Years
On the day he was laid off by his company, with only sixteen thousand yuan in savings left, he bid on an ignored old storage cabinet. Relying on years of appraisal experience, he discovered eight precious wristwatches with a considerable market value from a hidden compartment in the cabinet. While fellow traveler Cheng Tianhao mocked him for collecting junk, he excavated rare collectibles from an old meteorite-themed exhibition cabinet instead. Targeted by industry capital, he traveled far overseas to win first place in an international appraisal competition, and after returning home, assisted regulatory authorities in exposing industry chaos. The locker number left behind by his father who had been missing for twelve years unraveled an old insurance fraud case. The last old cabinet was recovered, holding no gold or treasures inside, only his father's handwritten dying words from back then.
