Gu Changning, the young master of a carriage firm, sets out on an abandoned courier road with a rickety old carriage whose wheels could fall off at any moment. He thought fixing the wheels would guarantee a safe journey, only to realize that what is truly difficult is the long-neglected road and the unspoken disagreements among fellow travelers. A mother and daughter heading to the market, a young courier delivering mail, and an old coachman travel together in turn. When the carriage breaks down, they fix it; when the road collapses, they mend it; when money runs short, they share the burden. Through the bumpy journey, Gu Changning grows from a sheltered young master who only read account books into a true traveler willing to shoulder the consequences.
