Chen Tiezhu, a widowed peasant from ancient times, accidentally time-travels to the modern era while digging for wild herbs in the mountains. Dressed in ragged clothes and bearing genuine, weathered life experience, he is recruited as an extra on a film set—starting from playing a corpse to landing featured roles with daily pay. He brings modern supplies such as boxed lunches, rice, flour, grain, and oil back to the ancient times to feed his whole family, and unexpectedly gains a mystical storage space. As his acting is recognized and his income grows, he buys a smartphone, learns to read, and plans to capitalize on price differences between the two worlds by starting food and small trading businesses with his family, steadily improving their lives.
