In 1997, nineteen-year-old Zhaoyang, a rural youth from Sichuan, arrived in Guangzhou with two hundred yuan and raw strength. On his very first day, defending his elder sister, he smashed a brick over the thug harassing her and ended up stranded on the streets. Penniless, relying on his fearless grit and genuine loyalty, Zhaoyang met benefactors and brothers who changed his life. No matter how tough, he never abandoned his conscience; no matter how bitter, he never betrayed his brothers. Capturing a microcosm of the migrant worker wave during early reform and opening-up, this story depicts a grassroots youth rewriting his destiny through an upright path, loyalty, and sheer resilience amid the tides of the era.
