On the Night of the Grand Wedding, the Imperial Marriage Decree Is a Trap
The Great Jing dynasty, mindful of the Shen family's complete devotion and sacrifice in guarding the borders, issued an imperial decree to betroth the orphaned Shen Yanci to the illustrious and battle-tested female general Xiao Jinghong. On the night of the grand wedding, Xiao Jinghong publicly confessed that her heart already belonged to another, demanding that Shen Yanci be demoted to a mere concubine-consort. The proud and unyielding Shen Yanci shattered the bestowed jade crown to reject the humiliation, and clad in bright red wedding robes, he rushed into the imperial palace at night to seek redress of grievances. As the grand trial in the Golden Hall unfolded, an unopened old case from the northern frontier spanning ten years gradually surfaced, yet the mastermind still lurked in the shadows, and the truth remained far from clear.
