On the Day of the Wedding, I Cancelled the Marriage Registration
Shen Lizi and He Lin were scheduled to register their marriage after National Day. Returning early from her trip, she pushed open the door to find the entire house decorated with double happiness characters, with Wen Ci as the bride on the wedding invitation. Rushing to the hotel, she watched He Lin and Wen Ci hold a wedding ceremony, kiss, and offer tea. He Lin claimed he was only helping Wen Ci act out a play for her grandmother, who was in the late stages of cancer, and told her not to make a fuss. Right then and there, she cancelled her marriage registration appointment. When a fire broke out at the wedding venue, He Lin chose to rescue Wen Ci first, leaving her behind in the burning room. Equipment racks crushed her right leg, and she was sent to the operating room due to excessive blood loss. That very night, her mother passed away from a cerebral hemorrhage, and she failed to answer a single one of fifteen phone calls.
